Susan Blake
SUSAN BLAKE obtained a BA and an MA in art history at Northern Illinois University while also studying visual arts and keeping a darkroom. Postgraduate studies followed at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and at Columbia College School of Photography in Chicago.
Susan worked as an arts researcher for St. James Press (the Chicago affiliate of St. Martins Press) and wrote art criticism for the Chicago New Art Examiner, a monthly arts publication. Her interest in photography coupled with the advent of Photoshop led her to working in the field of graphics design as a photo-illustrator. Her clients included Lehman Brothers, Grubb & Ellis and Argonne National Laboratory. Since relocating to Denver in 2004, she has focused on her personal photography work.
Susan has exhibited at The Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago, Chicago's Hyde Park Art Center and others. In Colorado, she has exhibited at the Center for Fine Art Photography where her work is in its permanent collection.
